All about Boka Kotorska
Rare are the bays in the world that resemble Boka Kotorska, be it by their origin, horizontal and vertical fragmentation, natural phenomena, rich and diverse cultural heritage. These particularities had long adorned it, attracting its visitors, but also numerous writers, poets and artists.
In Boka, they would seek motivation, inspiration, and some of them also natural medicine. Boka has managed to preserve those peculiarities until the present day. Rarely does one see such special symbiosis of the stated values in such a confined area as can be experienced in its innermost section, Kotor – Risan Bay.
This is a place where nature “encountered” mankind, showing respect for each other, showing their creative abilities but also those of mutual respect.
Three natural sections, mountainous hinterland of Krivošije, Kotor – Risan Bay and Grbalj Plain, all in such a small area covering 335 km2, constitute a real rarity.
Here the East met the West. Two different cultures exerted influences one on the other, leaving their traces in architecture, art, literature, religion, staying so close, permeating and respecting each other.
This is testified by numerous examples of respect for differences, particularities, of joint participation in religious, cultural and diverting events.
