International Yoga Day Celebration

International Yoga Day Celebration

“Yoga is an invaluable gift of India᾽s ancient tradition. It embodies unity of mind and body; thought and action; restraint and fullfilment; harmony between man and nature;  a holistic approach to health and well-being. Let us work towards adopting an International Yoga Day”. – Narendra Modi, UN General Assembly.

With the COVID – 19 pandemic, which forced humanity to unparalleled isolation and prevention measures, people around the world became acutely aware of their own mental and physical health. Yoga, like other forms of recreation that we resorted to, was the way the humanity dealt with fears and anxiety.

Today, people are more aware of the need to preserve the fragile balance within ourselves, but also with the environment.

The very essence of yoga is in balance, with ourselves, our own mind and body, but also with people and the natural environment in which we exist. “Yoga emphasizes the value of mindfulness, moderation, discipline and perseverance. When applied to communities and societies yoga offers a path for sustainable living.” (un.org)

On the occasion of the international Yoga Day, which is celebrated around the world on June 21, the Tourism Organisation of Kotor will host a series of events in June, starting from 18.6.
